Today I performed my civic duty and voted. The line was about 100 people long but only took about 30 minutes to get out of there. No doubt you know how I voted. There was also a referendum for commuter rail here in Austin that is probably 50/50. I don't live on the proposed route, but imagine if I didn't have to contend with rush hour traffic and ride the train instead. Nah, I cherish my car too much to give that up. That's the American way.

I'm copying a link that Steves' Soapbox has up -
http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20041026-121303-1337r.htm - from a story yesterday about Bush breaking with the GOP and saying civil unions are OK. Hmm, one week before the election, he decides his right-wingers aren't enough and is trying to reach for the middle and the left out of desperation. Whatever . . (i invite comments on
this one)
If you haven't gotten off your lazy ass to the movie in a while, then by all means go see the totally un-PC Team America: World Police. Scott, I think you're the only other person I know that's seen it. But if you like to laugh at gruesome blood-letting, head decapitation, unecessarily long vomit scenes, you're in for a treat. And of course, one of the best sex scenes in any movie I've ever seen. I recommend going high or buzzed just to make you laugh harder and longer.
Ok, so i've not updated for a week, and the Blog isn't so much a Blog - yet. I will revisit my previous week's events in all the sordid details for all to read. I must say, I was a bad boy.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. My weekend in Brownwood for HPU Homecoming was not uneventful. While drunk on Bacardi O's in the parking lot of Gate 1 motel Saturday nite, a group of us got chased around by the hotel manager, driving her golf cart around in her white bathrobe, all because she heard a paddle break against the concrete (thus causing a noise disturbance...and yes, that kind of paddle) and then saw toilet paper strewn across the asphalt (from wrapping a frat brother in TP and lighting him on fire). Needless to say, I left with good memories haha.
Wanted to post a link to the Blog (
http://stevesmarketanddeli.com/blogger.htm) that our fellas @ Steves' Market and Deli update almost every day with bits of history and current events reminding us Brownwood natives how backwards and corrupt it is. Despite having a Starbucks, Chili's and soon-to-be Home Depot and Lowe's, the town is not quite there yet. Perhaps I should run for Mayor in 2020?? God, slap me if I do.
A bitch fight is brewing between Jon Stewart (of The Daily Show) and Tucker Carlson (of CNN's Crossfire). Jon called Tucker a dick on live TV and said Crossfire blows. The truth hurts. LOL ;-)
I recycled today for the first time -
ever.
I've seen those little green containers with that arrow symbol for 2 years now, but tonite I actually put something in them. I've been collecting our used plastic water bottles for 6 months, hoping to refill them, but never did. I decided enough was enough with bottles stashed in weird places, so I walked down to the recycle bins and dumped them in, including 10 issues of the Austin Chronicle that I was collecting for no good reason.
What a good feeling. I did my part for the environment. Take that, Dubya!

Well, here goes nothing. My first post on my very first blog. I've been so into blogs this year (especially because of the election) that I couldn't pass up the chance to do my own. You may or may not be interested in anything or everything, but either way, it's a good outlet for one's self-expression. I end this blog with some basic advice this coming November - Just Vote. Please.
