Nothing substantial to write about - I'm sure I could wax poetic and give symbolic meaning to the goings-on of the last few weeks but it comes down to lots of work, including a couple of weekends sitting in front of a computer for 8+ hours. And as usual I'm the one saving the day yet underappreciated and underpaid, at least relative to what *I* think I deserve.
I also think that training in basic communication should be mandatory for everyone on a regular basis. Whether it's email, phone, TMs or face2face, we're (yes, I do generalize here with "we") becoming just lousy at effectively communicating our minds, our feelings, our needs, our desires. The workplace is a good example as most of us can attest to but it also relates to our interpersonal relationships with friends, family and spouses. Everyone would be so much happier ;-)
Other than that, I'm ready for springtime to arrive. This cold, rainy weather does nothing for me. I live in Texas for a reason.
Traffic is non existent today - hmm, is it perhaps because I have to work today while the thousands of people working for large corporations and goverment institutions are taking a day off in remembrance of our greatest civil rights leader? Small private companies don't have to observe any of those special days. What a beautiful day too - would love to be outside enjoying the sunshine.

Doing some side research on what our administration is doing in the Middle East and - of course this is no surprise - it involves oil. Read for yourself. As long as they leave Alaska alone - it's a lot prettier than Afghanistan.

I missed out on any celebration of the New Year as I moved from my old South Austin apartment to my new North Austin apartment. I guess I'm not 'cool' anymore since I can't call one of the South Austin ZIP codes home. But the best part is being able to walk to work if I absolutely had to. What a difference that makes. Save gas, save time, save hassle. No rush hour drive in the morning and evening. I guess that alone is worth ringing in 2005.
argh! give me Allegra/Claritin/Zyrtec or give me death. 'Nuff said.
